More than a slow fashion brand. More than a yoga practice.
Miki Yogini International was developed by Michal Amedia-Mourin in 2012 with a collection of abstract photographic prints on canvas and fabric. Born with the dream that one day, she would become a fashion designer, she began to research the industry from a business and production standpoint. She hired local technical designers to turn her raw fabric prints into sketches, and those sketches into wearable art. The first line consisted of eco-freindly printed 100% silk crepe-de-chine luxury resort wear, inspired by an exotic trip to Greece and the surrounding islands. Only one of each piece was made in this collection.
As the daughter of a philanthropist who has founded several non-profits in India, Africa, Haiti, and America, Michal was already well versed in the intricate executive and organizational work that lies behind the curtain of many non-profit initiatives, and she shared that burning desire to incorporate making a change to the world around her through Miki Yogini International.
In 2016, Michal Amedia-Mourin had a divine meeting with Wafa Mateen, the daughter of a wonderful man and woman that founded Mother Nest in Lahore, Pakistan. Their meeting was actually quite random, but once the chatting got started, they quickly realized that this was no coincidence. Both ladies shared the same dreams of creating fashion, and both ladies were already on a path of non-profit work. When Michal learned more of Wafa's work in Lahore, and the mission of Mother Nest to help the impoverished disabled children in their area, she had to get involved.
Simultaneously, the Fashion Revolution continued to arise as a global movement. "Eco-luxury" and "Slow Fashion" had been concepts at the very core of Miki Yogini International since it was developed.
The timing for this revolution could not be more perfect.

Committed to a yogini lifestyle & the slow fashion revolutio, Michal and Wafa teamed up to create slow fashion, hand-crafted by local artisans, some of those artisans are the parents of the children that attend the school, giving much needed supplemental income directly back to those families in need.
An avid yogini since 2003, Michal traveled to El Palmar, Spain to gain her 200 RYT certification from the Yoga Shala Institute so that she could share her love for the practice with the world as a yoga teacher. Finally, all of her passions were merging into one divine movement.
The goal of Miki Yogini International is to spur and ignite the creative lifestyle that we have committed to, in others, worldwide. We wish to connect our slow fashion brand, yoga practice, and movement of giving back to the communities and people that we touch through these art forms, with others that share this passion, in whatever way possible.
Whether it is by submitting a photo that captivates you and collaborating with us to turn it into a one-of-a-kind wearable or usable artistic piece while also supporting our cause to better the lives of our sister non-profit Mother Nest, or practicing Yoga with us in an online session, or linking-back your site or social media platform to one of our blog posts that inspires you, we want to connect and ignite together!
